Mixed Media & Collage Workshop

During this two day workshop we will be trying many different techniques. Learn to create textures, work with multiple layers, create backgrounds, add transparent images, practice image transfer techniques and make your own art papers. Explore the possibilities with embellishments and adding 3-D objects to a 2-D collage surface. This workshop as it is geared for all levels from beginner to advanced students looking for new forms of expression. The time is packed with techniques, materials to try, and instruction but also leaves you plenty of time to get your hands dirty and dig in and create.

Beyond Mixed Media and Collage
Because of popular demand from my enthusiastic students, this workshop was developed. Wanting to take their projects from the collage and mixed media workshop to further levels, to have more time for finishing techniques, and to further experiment and play.

Sanding down surfaces and using a power sander to add an aged layered look, creating a simple wooden frame for framing small stretched canvases, the tricks and technical knowledge needed for successful varnishing, are only some of the things we will cover in this one day workshop.

Spirit Doll Workshop
Create a basic figure out of fabric then use this form to embellish and create your own spirit doll. You’ll be amazed how differently each doll turns out, the creativity and personal expression that is brought out by each individual.
This is a fun, personally-expressive 2 day workshop geared to all levels.
